WHEATLAND CATTLE COMPANY: EXPECT QUALITY, FUNCTIONAL, EXCELLENCE

Welcome to Wheatland Cattle Company, a family-owned Simmental and Angus operation in Bienfait, Saskatchewan, Canada. On our family operated ranch, each day resonates with our passion for cattle and dedication to herd excellence. As the next generation actively participates in the cattle industry, our legacy grows stronger. At Wheatland Cattle Co., we prioritize authenticity over trends; in other words – WHEATLAND CATTLE COMPANY FOLLOWS THE FUNDEMENTALS OF REAL WORLD CHARACTERISTCS!

Wheatland Cattle Company and the Lafrentz Family motto has always been QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. We consistently prioritize the selection of cattle based on their feet, scrotal size, and disposition. These bulls are backed by real world cows that work. We try to produce the best cattle we can. That’s not to say every bull looks alike, and that’s okay, because our different customers select for different traits, so we have to have something for everyone!

We work with Dr. Tyson Buyer, DVM, b. Sc, of BoviGen to ensure the health status of all animals at our operation. They have worked with us to design a customized vaccine and deworming strategy for each class of cattle based on the conditions, ensuring the cattle perform as expected when reaching your ranch. All breeding females are on a Zoetis health program ensuring optimal protection from BVD PI calves and ensuring high rates of passive transfer of immunity to calves. Proper nutrition, high health status, and a lifetime of genetic selection has led to highly fertile cattle.

The same Simmental and Angus cattle shown in the ring are from the same cow herd we have built a solid program around AND that’s been a lifetime in the making! When the sun goes down at the end of the day, Wheatland Cattle Company produces performance oriented, attractive, structurally sound cattle that last and work for the commercial cattleman and seed-stock producer.

ENSURING FUNCTIONAL, RELIABLE BREEDING CATTLE

The focus of Wheatland Cattle Company is to raise Simmental and Angus cattle that are functional and convenient. Our cowherd grazes until mid December and then are trailed home and fed hay and straw before calving. We like big middled, sound footed cows with good udders and excellent fleshing ability. The kind that look good seven days a week!

You are welcome to visit our ranch, and we recommend touring the cows if you get a chance. We are strong believers in cow families and a bull is only as good as his mother! Wheatland Cattle Co. strongly believes in the type of cattle we raise, and will continue to use these genetics moving forward to supply you with the most consistent, profitable herd we can.
