 DLCC is a South Devon seedstock operation committed to helping commercial cattlemen achieve profitability through crossbreeding and maternal heterosis. Our program strives to produce the most profitable genetics for our customer’s bottom line. This can only be done by trusting science and using it in all of our decisions. Research shows that crossbred females produce an average of one additional calf and over 600 more pounds of weaning weight than straightbred dams (NBCEC Sire Selection Manual). We are proud of how we’ve followed this principle with – whole herd reporting, data collection on every animal born, strict AI regimes, ultrasound data collection, and new and novel data. These practices produce “honest cattle, that give you real results.”

HOW WE BREED OUR CATTLE

We believe in crossbreeding and the effects it brings our customers. The South Devon, Poundmaker, Navigator cattle breed provide flexibility along with many desired economically relevant traits:

The DLCC Ranch is located near Pierz, Minnesota, and has been owned and operated since 1980 by Dar and Lynn Giess, with their grown children.
