The Legacy of Circle F Farms

Founded in 2011 in Baxley, Georgia, Circle F Farms began as a heartfelt tribute by Woody Folsom to his late father. What started as a family dream quickly grew into Woody’s greatest passion—building one of the largest Registered Brahman herds in the Southeast United States.

Over the last 13 years, Circle F Farms has expanded its genetic program to include:

• Registered Brahman cattle
• F1 crossbreeding program
• Registered Angus herd
• 1/8 blood cattle operation
• Registered Brangus and Ultrablacks
• Registered Charolais and Red Angus divisions

Circle F Farms is proudly owned and operated by Woody and Tamela Folsom along with their children, Tanner and Anna Kate. Today, the operation spans nearly 3,000 acres and is home to an elite portfolio of cattle and horses.

Circle F Farms Registered Brahman Herd

The Brahman breed, developed in the early 1900s, is known worldwide for its adaptability, insect resistance, longevity, and maternal ability. With nearly 80% of global cattle populations Brahman-influenced, their contribution to the beef industry is unmatched.

At Circle F Farms, over 700 head of Registered Brahman cows form the backbone of the herd. Our genetics trace back to industry leaders such as J.D. Hudgins, Inc. and V8 Ranch.

Brahman Genetic Program Highlights:

• Selection based on phenotype, pedigree, performance, and production
• Annual Production Sale featuring elite bulls and females
• Advanced in-vitro fertilization (IVF) program to multiply superior progeny
• Comprehensive data collection: Birth Weights, Weaning Weights, Yearling Weights, Carcass Ultrasounds
• Genetic reporting to the American Brahman Breeders Association

Circle F Farms Brangus and Ultrablack Cattle

The Brangus breed combines the hardiness of Brahman with the carcass quality of Angus (3/8 Brahman × 5/8 Angus). These cattle are especially popular across the Southern United States for their adaptability and profitability.

Circle F Farms reintroduced the Registered Brangus and Ultrablack program in 2023, sourcing elite genetics with an emphasis on performance and eye appeal.

• Brangus and Ultrablack bulls marketed through the Circle F Annual Production Sale
• Heifers retained to expand the herd
• Full performance recording including DNA testing, ultrasound data, and growth measurements
• Reporting to the International Brangus Breeders Association

Registered Angus and Donor Cow Program

Located in Baxley, Georgia, Circle F Farms has built a Black Angus donor cow program centered on the Burgess Cow Family. These moderate-framed, deep-bodied females deliver:

• Superior maternal traits
• Structural soundness
• Strong calf performance

This program strengthens both our Angus herd and crossbreeding efforts with Brahman, Brangus, and Charolais sires.

F1 Crossbreeding Program at Circle F Farms

The F1 cross is recognized as the premier commercial animal in the Southern U.S., combining the adaptability of Brahman with the performance of Angus, Hereford, Red Angus, or Charolais.

At Circle F Farms, nearly 550 Registered Brahman cows are bred annually to these sires, producing:

• F1 Bulls and Females sold through the Annual Production Sale
• Offspring with superior growth, fertility, and carcass quality

Every F1 calf is evaluated with data-driven metrics including weights and carcass ultrasounds, ensuring superior results for commercial producers.

Commercial Herd and 1/8 Blood Cattle

Circle F Farms also manages 400 head of commercial cattle, primarily Angus-sired out of Brahman × Hereford F1 cows. This program produces:

• 1/8 blood heifers marketed in the Annual Production Sale
• Steer mates harvested for the Circle F Meat Store, bringing farm-to-table beef directly to consumers

This “conception-to-consumption” model highlights Circle F’s commitment to quality genetics, profitability, and consumer satisfaction.
